..after my diving experience on the Great Barrier Reef my last 3 days on Kangaroo Island in the south of Australia were definitely the absolute highlight! This Island is absolutely fabulous when it coems to beautiful landscsapes and TONS of wildlife! I saw pretty much everything I wanted to see (and everything the tour promised we would see): no zoo, no fences, just 100% wildlife! Koalas, a few fairy penguings during a nightwalk, hundreds of Kangaroos and Wallabies (=small Kangaroo breed), sea lions and seals, 3 echidnas (like a porcipine with a long nose) and some nice birds – oh, and a fat possum which stole some of our food from the B-B-Q (this little guy will explode soon, the tour guides call him fatty because he got stuck in a hole in the house last week! There were amazing beaches and shorelines with turquoise coloured water and the wind was as strong as I have NEVER experienced before (our little Japanese girl in the tour almost FLEW away!). Luckily we saw a lot of baby Koalas and Kangaroos peeking out of their mother’s pouches because is is breeding season right now – very cute to see!
